Privacy Policy

Last updated · May 2026

Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what data CryptoTaxBit collects, what we do with it, and what we never do. The short version: your tax numbers never leave your device.

The numbers you enter into the calculator

When you use the crypto tax calculator on this site, your inputs (capital gains, income figures, country, state/province, etc.) are processed entirely inside your browser. They are never sent to our servers, never stored, never logged, and never shared. As soon as you close the tab or refresh the page, they are gone.

We can read them as little as you can read your own thoughts — which is to say, not at all.

What we do collect (and why)

Like nearly every site on the internet, we use a small amount of anonymous data to understand how visitors find and use CryptoTaxBit, so we can improve it. Specifically:

What we do not collect

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies set by Google Analytics (which help count unique visitors and measure session length). You can block these in your browser settings or use a privacy extension — the site will still work perfectly.

If you email us

When you contact us at cryptotaxbit@gmail.com, your email address and message are visible only to us. We use them solely to respond to your enquiry. We never share, sell, or publish what you write to us.

External links

Our blog occasionally links to external resources (IRS, CRA, HMRC, news articles, software reviews). Once you click an external link, you are subject to that site's privacy policy — not ours. We have no control over what other sites do with your data.

Children

CryptoTaxBit is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR in the UK/EU, CCPA in California, PIPEDA in Canada, etc.), you may have legal rights regarding personal data. Since we collect almost no personal data, in practice the main right you have is to opt out of analytics by blocking cookies or using a privacy extension. If you ever want to know what (if anything) we hold about you, email us.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material in how we handle data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date at the top. For significant changes, we will also note them on the home page.
