Disclaimer
Please read this disclaimer carefully before relying on anything you see on CryptoTaxBit. By using this site, you accept these terms.
Not professional advice
Nothing on CryptoTaxBit — not the calculator, not the blog articles, not anything else — is professional tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. We are not your accountant, your lawyer, or your financial advisor. No client relationship is created by you using this site.
Cryptocurrency tax law is complex and varies based on your specific situation: where you live, how you acquired the crypto, how long you held it, what you did with it, and dozens of other factors a simple estimator cannot fully capture. For decisions that affect your actual tax filings, always consult a qualified professional.
Estimates only
The calculator uses simplified versions of the 2026 federal tax brackets from the IRS (United States), the CRA (Canada), and HMRC (United Kingdom), with simplified state, provincial, and additional layers. It does not account for:
- Personal deductions, credits, or allowances unique to your situation
- Cost-basis tracking across multiple lots and exchanges
- Specialized rules for businesses, trusts, or non-residents
- Recent rule changes or interpretations not yet reflected in our model
- Cross-border, multi-jurisdiction, or unusual transaction types
Real tax returns are more detailed than any quick estimator can be. Treat our output as a planning ballpark, never as a final number.
No guarantee of accuracy
We try hard to keep tax brackets, rates, and rules current and correct. But tax law changes constantly, sometimes mid-year, and even official guidance can be ambiguous. We make no guarantee — express or implied — that any figure or article on this site is fully accurate, complete, or up to date for your jurisdiction at the moment you are reading it.
No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CryptoTaxBit, its operators, and anyone associated with it are not liable for any loss, penalty, interest, additional tax, audit cost, or any other harm arising from your use of this site. You use the information and tool here entirely at your own risk.
Not affiliated with tax authorities
CryptoTaxBit is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), any cryptocurrency exchange, or any tax software company.

Affiliate disclosure
Some articles on the blog may, in the future, include affiliate links to crypto tax software or related services.
